Old Sacramento’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

Friday, March 16th | 8:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Start the weekend off right and explore the entire city at the “St. Patrick’s Day Old Sacramento Bar Crawl.” Old City is hosting a bar crawl the night before the big parade. Nine bars are taking part, including O’Mallys Irish Pub, Vega’s Underground and River City Saloon. It’s free to participate, and maps are available at every bar.  

Xoso’s St. Paddy’s Day Crawl

Saturday, March 17th | 3:00 p.m.

Xoso Sport & Social League is also hosting a pub crawl along with the 5 Hundy Social Club. For $35, people can join the VIP party starting at 2 p.m. VIP includes a free vodka mixed drink, live DJ and other free giveaways. The $25 general admission comes with a pub crawl t-shirt. At $15, participants will get just a wristband for access to discounts at bars along the route.

De Vere’s Irish Pub

Start your day bright and early at De Vere’s Irish Pub on March 17th. They’ll be open at 9:00 a.m. for their annual St. Patrick’s Day party, so early partiers can start with an Irish coffee. They’re serving corned beef and cabbage all day. De Vere’s is home to Sacramento’s largest whiskey collection, and it serves a 20oz pint. Expect plenty of Guinness at this celebration!

Club Raven’s St. Patrick’s Day Party

Saturday, March 17th | 10:00 a.m.

Come to Club Raven for their St. Patrick’s Day celebration starting at 10 a.m. on the 17th. Club Raven has been a local watering hole for 70 years, and it is frequently nominated as the best neighborhood bar in the city. Stop by for Irish car bombs, beers, Irish whiskey and corned beef sandos cooked in Guinness.

Pitch and Fiddle

Saturday, March 17th | 11:00 a.m.

Pitch and Fiddle is also throwing a party on Saturday. This bar has more than 20 HD TVs, two dartboards and 16 beers on tap. Come by and try their fish and chips or their famous Irish corned beef tacos. This place is very popular and was named in Sacramento Magazine’s “2017 Best of Sacramento” list.

St. Patrick’s Day Crafts

Friday, March 16th | 2:00 – 3:00 p.m

The Sacramento Public Library is hosting a “St. Patrick’s Day Crafts” event at their Del Paso Heights location for the holiday. Bring the kids and make shamrocks along with other arts and crafts. The event takes place from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., and it is all ages. Children can create their own leprechaun catcher at the library’s McKinley branch on March 16th at 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The library will provide a variety of materials that children can use for their unique design.

Old Sacramento’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Friday, March 17th | 1:00 p.m.

The city’s 22nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place in Old Sacramento on March 17 and starts promptly at 1:00 p.m.. Expect to see hundreds of marchers, Irish and Highland dancers, historic re-enactors and pipe and drum bands. Those who plan to attend should plan to find a spot early. This parade is considered one of the largest in Northern California, and close to 35,000 people attended last year!

Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day

Saturday, March 17th | 1:00 – 2:30 p.m

The Historic City Cemetery is hosting a special tour for the holiday on March 17th from 1:00 p.m – 2:30 p.m. At “Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day,” expect to hear various stories about the Irish entrepreneurs, troublemakers and rebels who made their way in the city between 1850 and 1890. Be prepared for some corny Irish jokes!

Blues in the VFW’s St. Patrick’s Day Showcase

Head to West Sacramento for “Blues in the VFW’s St. Patrick’s Day Showcase.” Performers include Paris Clayton, Gary Mendoza and Kenny Nichols. The event also offers food, drinks and art activities for the entire family. The event is from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m on March 17th.

Sacramento Republic FC Soccer Game

Saturday, March 17th | 7:30 pm

Cheer on your Sacramento Republic FC during their home opener against San Antonio FC on St. Patrick’s Day! This game is the first of the United Soccer League season, and it takes place at Papa Murphy’s Park. Keep an eye out for Cameron Iwasa, who was named the top USL player of the week for his two goals against River Valley Grande FC.
